Tylers Coffee uses its proprietary Z-Roasting method to lower the acid content in its coffee beans and reduce heartburn.

It's less acidsic than regular coffee
Decaf coffee offers many of the same digestive benefits as regular coffee; however, caffeine-free decaf is particularly advantageous to those suffering from acidity issues in their stomachs and issues related to excess acid production in general. Heartburn, silent reflux, Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Barrett's Esophagus may all be caused by excessive acid in our body. These conditions can be painful and lead to serious complications, such as stricture and cancer of the Esophagus if not treated.
Due to its processing, decaf coffee is less acidic than regular. Many decaf products use a chemical solution process, such as methylene acetate or ethyl chloride, to dissolve the caffeine in the beans while leaving the aroma and flavor intact. After roasting, and after mixing with water to remove chemical residues and restore flavor, decaf coffee is less acidic and still has plenty of taste. This produces cups that are similar to regular coffee but with lower acidity levels.
To reduce acidity, you can choose organic decaf as its production is more eco-friendly and does not use harmful chemicals or pesticides. Ask the coffee manufacturer how they make decaf before you buy any of their products.
The amount of acidity that your stomach produces depends on your diet and your overall health. Too much acidity in the body can damage its lining of the stomach, so it's crucial that you eat right and avoid foods rich in fats and sugars.
Certain people should avoid caffeine, including those who suffer from anxiety disorders or cardiovascular diseases. Caffeine should be avoided by children and teenagers whose brains, bodies and minds are still in development. Although giving up your morning cup might be tough, there are plenty of healthier alternatives, including decaf versions.
It's easier on the stomach
Coffee is a staple food in our lives. It provides much-needed relief to those with chronic heartburn, reflux, and/or GERD. While you cannot simply cease drinking coffee if this is something that bothers you, there are ways you can make it less acidic for your stomach - like switching to decaf which has less of an acid content which might help mitigate issues in this regard.

Coffee contains various elements that may cause stomach irritation, including caffeine and acidity. Caffeine can relax lower esophageal muscles, causing heartburn and an increase in stomach acids. The acidity in coffee may aggravate any conditions that already exist.
If you drink too much coffee, it can cause loose stools. However, darker roasts or drinking slowly can help to prevent this problem. Although there haven't been any scientific trials to prove these claims, you should monitor your consumption if it causes digestive issues.
Even those suffering from symptoms enjoy the benefits of coffee and don't want to give it up. Alex's Low Acid Organic Coffee has lower acidity than regular coffee, but is still made with natural ingredients.
Some experts advise only drinking coffee in the morning and limiting it to three cups per day; however, this entirely depends on your stomach, health, and caffeine sensitivity. Consult with your doctor to determine which is best for you.
Decaf coffee offers more than digestive benefits - it may help improve sleep quality lucid ganoderma tea benefits and lower anxiety levels as well as reduce risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, associated with higher mortality and cardiovascular problems. Plus, some of its healthier alternatives such as sodas and energy beverages may even prevent heartburn!
It's less prone to cause heartburn
Decaf coffee contains less acid-causing agents than its caffeinated counterpart, making it less likely to trigger heartburn and providing an alternative choice for those who have reached their daily caffeine limit (usually four cups per day). Decaf coffee can still be acidic depending on the process of production. Slow-roasted products will have a lower acidity level than faster-roasted alternatives.

Some individuals may experience heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) after drinking caffeinated coffee, even without other risk factors for these conditions. Due to the multi-factorial nature of these diseases, drinking caffeinated espresso could cause heartburn for you if your stomach has a sensitivity. Speak with your doctor to determine strategies that may work for you.
As a general guideline, to avoid acid reflux and GERD it is wise to consume coffee in moderation and limit foods that trigger these symptoms - including chocolate, onions, alcohol and fried food. Cold-brewing coffee can reduce acidity by up to 70%. It's important to consider your personal preferences when choosing a drink. You should also consult your physician for advice on the best diet.

Coffee and tea contain polyphenols which have numerous health benefits that include reduced oxidative stress, lower blood pressure, improved insulin sensitivity and protection from rheumatoid arthritis. Fiber can help to keep digestive problems at bay. Plus, decaf tea may even help with better sleep - caffeine can interfere in sleep cycles. However, relaxing over decaf tea may help to relax you before you doze off more easily.
It's best to consult your doctor before drinking decaf coffee, even though some experts believe it is safer for pregnant women to drink than its caffeinated equivalent. Caffeine can harm unborn babies so it is recommended that caffeine intake remain below 200mg per day; however, research suggests that drinking decaf coffee could actually increase your odds of a successful gestation.
It's the healthier choice
Decaf coffee is a great health drink, but moderation and a healthy diet are key. Some people may be sensitive to caffeine and can't tolerate decaf coffee at high doses. It is important that you find out what works best for you.
Decaf coffee also reduces the risk of type 2, cardiovascular disease, and mortality. The antioxidants present in decaf coffee may help increase insulin sensitivity - thus decreasing your chances of type 2 diabetes - while helping lower blood sugar levels and enhance glucose metabolism.

Decaf can help you stay full for a longer period. Caffeine in regular caffeine can cause appetite suppression and lead to overeating. But decaf coffee is much lower in caffeine, so it won't suppress appetite as much.
Some decaf is produced with methylene-chloride, a paint stripper solvent that has been linked to cancer of the liver. Read labels to ensure that the coffee you buy is not produced using this toxic chemical. Waterbased decaffeination processes are a safer alternative that won't risk your health or the health of your family. Decaffeination is often done using water-based methods.
